ReelEducation was created by the team that brought ReelAbilities Film Festival to Toronto, Canada’s largest film festival showcasing disability and Deaf cultures. ReelEducation uses the power of film to help teachers create lessons in equity, inclusion, accessibility, and the social model of disability.
Our main objective was to improve Brand awareness by creating an authentic brand that is playful, familiar and bold, and that engages the target audience of students and educator. All collateral produced for ReelEducation is Accessible and AODA compliant.
We created a flat design logo that mimics a sticker. By building in a background, we ensured that the logo would stand out. Through the use of a black and white logo, in juxtaposition with rich pastel paterns, the brand invites people to acknowledge more about the relationship between film and community.
Creating the Brand Style
We wanted to provide an option of a tagline with the logo. We achieved this by pairing the bold new logo with a call to action. Lights! Equity! Action! worked to amplify the brand’s personality, and explained the organization’s goals.
Colour & Patterns
We knew that colour was essential to our messaging, so bold graphic patterns were created that could be layered to create backgrounds. We created patterns from the logo elements and a solid ramp that would be the frame and backdrop to the new bold logo.

We needed an idea for a giveaway at conventions, and teachers can never have enough STICKERS!
